The district administration has filed a complaint with the police against two village accountants in Kodagu district, in connection with producing fake second year Pre-University marks cards during their appointment.

The VAs are Shivaraj Patil of Devanahalli in Bangalore rural and N Nagesh of Kachanayakanahalli in Chikkaballapura district. The district administration in its complaint has urged the police to initiate action against the duo. To fill the 12 vacancies of Village Accountants in the district, the district administration had invited online applications from candidates on July 9, 2013. The duo had attached the marks cards along with the applications. The district administration had sent the marks cards of all selected Village Accountants to the PU Board for verification. After verifying the marks card, the PU Board officials have clarified that marks cards of Patil and Nagesh were fake.

According to the marks card submitted by Patil, he had scored 96 in Kannada, English—94, history—95, Economics—95, Business Studies—96, Accountancy—93. In reality, he had secured Kannada—44, English—35, History—30, Economics—39, Business Studies—48 and Accountancy—35.

N Nagesh has submitted marks card from Hosakote Government PU College. The PU Board has clarified that the Board does not have any document to prove the marks card. The marks card does not match with the documents at the PU Board.

The marks cards have not been issued by the PU Board, said PU Board (examination) wing Joint Director in a letter dated February 12.
