Speaking after inaugurating the 120th birthday celebrations of Bharath Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar organised by District Administration at Adi Udupi, he said the statue will be carved before the DC Office complex along the statue of Mahatma Gandhi commemorating his Dandi march.

Dr Ambedkar is one rare persona who swam before all odds to stick to his beliefs and ideologies. India has failed to implement the ideas of Ambedkar. Ambedkar was against Article 370 granting special status to Jammu Kashmir. He favoured equal treatment for all states foreseeing undue advantage of the provision and dissatisfaction from other states.

However, he was compelled with bringing amendments to the provision terming it as temporary. Sarcastically, the temporary tag has not been wiped out till date even after 60 years of introducing the Constitution. Ambedkar also had plans for banning the cattle slaughter. He introduced Article 48 for the sake of protecting cattle and this Article is impending to be strictly imposed, he added.

Stating that Ambedkar’s reservation policies for SC and ST has been instrumental in bringing noteworthy changes in the communities, Acharya said State government is striving hard to improve the condition of SC and ST communities by introducing many development programmes. State government has plans to develop 300 hamlets belonging to SC/ST at the cost of Rs 300 crore earmarking Rs 1 crore each for a hamlet. A sum of Rs 4,633 crore has been earmarked for special component fund for SC communities in the current fiscal budget.

Besides Rs 1,867 crore for tribal compliance have been allotted, he added.
In another programme organised by Komu Sauharda Vedike, renowned Columnist Shivasunder said capitalism and Brahmanism are the two evils confronting the oppressed people in society.

Indian Constitution has failed to legally introduce the principles put forth by Ambedkar. Internal revolt of freedom is essential to strictly impose the ideologies of Dr Ambedkar.
Government is trying to make Ambedkar a mere statue by forcefully suppressing the beliefs propounded by him. According to the great man Dr B R Ambedkar, equality and strong opposition is important for the survival of democracy, he added.
