Ban on plastic flags in C'magalur

He was delivering the presidential speech in a meeting organised to discuss the preparations of Independence Day celebration. “The flags must be compulsorily hoisted in every governmental organisations of the district. The rules and regulations of flag hoisting must be followed, breaking of which would lead the officials into serious trouble,” he warned.  

Meanwhile, he also informed that all the governmental organisations should light lamps on the buildings on August 14 and 15 to celebrate Independence Day. Sweets will be distributed in respective schools and Anganawadi centres, he said. The district administration has decided to develop a park in the city to commemorate Independence Day. “Various sports and other cultural competitions will be held for the students in schools and colleges,” he added.

In the meeting, administration has decided to organise cultural programmes on August 15 evening at either Ganapathi Pendal or MES school premises or at Okkaligara Samudaya Bhavana, as Kuvempu Kala Mandira is under repair. Various committees were also formed for the smooth functioning of the programme. SPVikas Kumar, ZP  CEO M R Ramanna, ZP Member Radha Sundareshand others were present.
