Belur adds water sports to its kitty

He was speaking at the inauguration of Yagachi Water Adventure Sports Centre at the Yagachi Dam recently.

With the introduction of the boating services, the Centre will create enthusiasm among locals, tourists and also people from the neighbouring Chikkamagalur district.

Proposal

He said that a proposal to introduce water sports was prepared long time back, but it has come into effect now.

Tourists visiting Belur and Halebeedu can now even participate in water sports, he added. Captor Society head H B Krishna said that they would visit every institute and conduct publicity campaigns.

Furthermore, students undertaking a boat ride will be given concession if they produce their identification cards issued by the respective institutions.

Tourism Department Joint Director Adilakshmamma, Tahsildar P G Nataraj, Tammannagowda, Block Congress President A N Madhavegowda, Town Municipal Council Member M Gurupadaswamy, Congress leaders H Padmegowda, U T Keshavamurthy were present.
