JOIN US The matches will be held in the district stadium and K V Trust stadium during the three-day sports event.
As many as 600 sportspersons from 30 districts will be taking part in the tournament. The district administration will provide boarding and lodging, travelling expenses of the participants, Deputy Commissioner Anwar Pasha said here on Friday.
He was speaking in a preliminary meeting held here to monitor the preparations for the event.
Assistant Director of Youth Service and Sports Department, M Rayappa, said that sportpersons who have emerged victorious in rural-level football tournament are eligible to participate in the state-level event. The participants must be above 18 years of age. A sum of Rs 50,000 has been released for the purpose and the balance will be met from the Sports Committee.
Sports minister, district in-charge minister, legislators from the district will take part in the inaugural on Nov 13, at 3 pm. Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily, will take part in the valedictory.
Bagepalli legislator N Sampangi, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer N Krishnappa and others were present in the meeting.
