Elaborate security steps for Kodagu ZP/TP polls

The hyper sensitive polling booths will have one Head Constable, one constable and one Home Guard personnel. The sensitive booth will have one constable and one Home Guard personnel.


There are 38 sector mobiles. One sector mobile will include 10 to 15 polling booths. The mobile police can will visit every polling booth for every half an hour. Every sector mobile will have one police officer and four personnel. Two will have rifles, informed Annigeri.
To check the transportation of illicit liquor and explosives, 15 check posts will be set up in the border. The police personnel will work round the clock in the check posts. All the vehicle numbers will be noted down on the register and checked thoroughly.

Check posts will be set up at Karike in Bhagamandala police station limits, Sampaje in Madikeri rural station, Maldare in Siddapura police station, Sampigekatte, Chaingate in Madikeri city police station, Makutta in Virajpet rural station, Perumbadi in Virajpet city station, Anechowkuri in Ponnampet police station, Kutta in Kutta police station, Hipligate, Kodlipete, Niluvagilu in Shanivarasanthe police station, Shirangala , Koppa in Kushalagar police station and Banavara in Somwarpet police station.

He said that every taluk will have one KSRP, 3 platoons of DAR and 9 platoons of DAR in selected places.

To provide security during election, there is a need for three DySP, 73 PSI/AIS, 960 head constable/constables, 450 home guards, 3 KSRP, 3 platoons of DAR. A total of three DySPs, 9 CPI, 63 PSI.ASI, 660 head constables/constables will be deployed along with 10 PSIs, 300 head constables/constables, 3 KSRP platoons from Ramnagar. A total of 450 home guards will also be deployed, he added.

Deposit arms
In the backdrop of election, all those who possess arms should deposit it in the police stations by Wednesday 10 am, said the SP.

Dry days
Dry days will be in force from December 30, 7 am to December 31, 8 pm. Accordingly, the sale of liquor in bar, restaurants, clubs will be banned during dry days.
