Elephant kills man in Chikkamagaluru

A 65-year-old farmer died in an elephant attack while he was guarding his ragi field at Ragi Basavanahalli in Tarikere of Chikkamagaluru district.

The deceased has been identified as Erappa, and it is believed that the incident occurred while he was guarding his ragi field on Saturday night.

The spot was visited by former MLA G H Srinivas and forest officials.
