The officials are finalising the voters’ list as per booths, under supervision of the respective Tahshildars. The works of deputing election officers, assistant election officers and booth level officials is under progress.

Tahshildars are inspecting the polling centres and checking the condition of the booths to ascertain whether they are fit to be used as booths. They will be submitting a report on the same to Deputy Commissioner, who will be the District Election Officer. The officials will undergo training stage by stage.

The EVMs were used effectively during the Assembly election. Further, it has cut down on the time required for voting and counting too. Hence, Election Commissioner is said to be keen on introducing EVMs for Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat elections. In this connection, EVMs and Ballot Unit Boxes have been supplied to all the districts by the Centre.
Kodagu district has received 148 ballot unit boxes, informed a source.

Deputy Commissioner K H Ashwathnarayana Gowda, Additional DC Chandregowda among others inspected the boxes. Control Unit Boxes will be dispatched soon.
