‘Face action for unscientific disposal of construction debris’

District In-charge Minister S T Somashekar warned stringent action against unscientific disposal of construction debris at the public places.

Speaking to reporters after launching asphalting works on Outer Ring Road (ORR), here, on Monday, the minister said, “The construction debris dumped beside the ORR has been totally cleared. From now, stern action would be initiated against the people dumping debris anywhere on the stretch.”

“There are provisions for imprisonment and penalty. The vehicle used for dumping the debris will be seized and the owner of the vehicle would be imprisoned. Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) will allot place to dump construction waste, he said.

The minister said that the asphalting works have been taken at a cost of Rs 120 crore.

The minister said, “BJP corporator will be made as the Mayor of Mysuru, with the support of JD(S). I will speak to JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy in this regard. The final decision will be taken after discussion with the MLAs, MP and others.”

When asked about private agriculture market in Chitradurga, Somashekar said, “It is said that the market will be established on 100-acre on the lines of APMC. The development is good and much needed. I will inspect the market during my visit to Chitradurga.”
