'Follow developments in of Science and Technology field'

 He was speaking at an interaction programme on Science and Technology organised by the STVG in association with State Science and Technology Department, State Education Research and Training Department and State Vijnana Parishat at St Joseph’s Girls High School here on Wednesday.

He said that interaction programmes at schools and colleges will make students more enthusiastic towards science and technology. Government is organising several programmes including awareness against superstition, quiz and other events to make students and society alert.

The ‘Vidyarthi - Vijnani’ (student - scientist) interaction programme, which was introduced by the state government in 33 education districts, has already been implemented successfully in 30 districts. The programme was implemented more meaningfully in Madikeri, he added. A total of 14,000 students and teachers in the state will be benefited through the interaction, he said adding that each district can send upto 400 students to the programme. More such programme will be introduced in the days to come, he added.

Scientist Shrikantaswamy, Technology Department under secretary K Boralingaiah, Section Officer Ananthakumar, were present.
