Hassan : Veterans bag 18 gold in sports meet

Veteran sportspersons belonging to Hassan District who won several prizes at the South India Veterans Athletic Championships held at Erode, Tamil Nadu recently. DH photoMedal winners

30 - 35 years: Manikanta grabbed the gold in 800, 1,500, 5,000 Meter running race, while H K Suresh grabbed silver in five km brisk walking.

35 - 40 years: Anil Kumar clinched the gold in five km brisk walk and claimed the silver in 1,500 Meter running race.

He also won a bronze in 800 Meter running. J P Nagendra Prasad bagged the bronze in long jump, while Chandru won the silver in both five km brisk walk and 5,000 Meter running race.

K T Srinivas won the silver in 400 Meter running and 400 Meter hurdles, while claiming the bronze in 200 Meter running.

40 - 45 years: S L Nagesh bagged the gold in five km brisk walk, while Vijayakumari won the gold in High Jump and 100 Meter hurdles. She also won silver in 200 Meter running.

45 - 50 years: C L Rangaswamy grabbed the gold in 1,500 Meter running and a bronze in 5,000 Meter running. S T Dharanesh clinched the bronze in Hammer Throw and Discuss Throw.

55 - 60 years: S R Kalegowda clinched the gold in 5,000 Meter running and bronze in both 800 Meter and 1,500 Meter running. S T Nanjegowda grabbed the gold in Discuss Throw and 100 Meter hurdles. He also won the silver in shot put.

60 - 65 years: K G Dasegowda bagged the silver in Javelin Throw and bronze in Shot Put.
65 - 70 years: Umapathi Modaliyar emerged victorious in 1,500 Meter running by claiming the gold and winning a bronze in 400 Meter running.

70 - 75 years: U B Raju claimed the gold in Long Jump and bronze in 100 Meter running. H S Bheemaiah won the gold in Javelin Throw and bronze in Discuss Throw.
