Kodagu dist bags 82.52 per cent results in SSLC

20 schools score cent per cent result in the dist

Kodagu district has managed to score 82.52 per cent in the SSLC examinations this year, bagging 13th position in the State.

The district has scored 2.43 per cent more than last year and as the tradition goes girls have put up a better show even this year when compared to boys.

In the examination conducted in March, a total of 7,490 students including repeaters, students appearing privately and regular students had appeared for the examination and of these 6,199 students have passed.

As many as 245 students have passed with distinction, 2,161 with first class, 1414 with second class and 2,349 in general.There are 47 government schools, 48 aided schools and 53 private schools, making a total of 148 schools in the district.

Two government schools and 18 private schools have scored cent per cent result. As many as 97 schools have bagged more than 80 per cent, 43 schools have got results between 60 to 80 per cent and seven schools have got results between 40 to 60 per cent. Only one school has got result below 40 per cent.

Makkandur Government Highschool, Kanabail Government Highschool, Cherambane Arun Pre University College, Kodagarahalli Shanthiniketan School are some of the schools which received 100 per cent result.

Girls outshine

Out of the 3,656 boys who appeared for the examination, 2892 have passed.
However out of 3834 girls who appeared for examination 3,289 have passed with total of 86.25 per cent leaving behind the boys who scored 79.08 per cent.

When the comparison between performance of urban and rural students is made it is seen that they had performed equally well but the urban students had their graph slightly higher by 0.53 per cent.

A total of 6,270 students from rural area had appeared for the examination, of which 5,164 students had passed scoring 82.4 per cent.

A total of 1220 students had appeared in urban areas of which 1,017 students passed scoring 82.93 per cent.
