Kodagu gets Rs 1.5 crore for development works

Funds will be utilised to complete pending projects

The funds will be utilised to complete pending projects from last year and take up new projects under the Suvarna Gramodaya Yojana, said Zilla Panchayat Deputy Secretary S Y Basavarajappa.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, he said that the funds will be utilised in Peraje, Maragodu, Karada, Kundacheri, Kanthuru Murnadu of Madikeri taluk, Andagove, Guddehosuru, Basavanahalli, Hebbale, Nellihudikeri, Madapura, Kumburu, Aluru, Siddapura in Somwarpet, Hakathur, Kaikeri, Palibetta, Mekuru, Hoskeri, Aravathoklu, Kiruguru in Virajpet and Ammathi GP limits.

He said that the funds will be released to Panchayat Raj Engineering Division Executive Engineer and three Taluk Panchayat Executive Officers to take up drain works, road works, community hall construction, Anganwadi building construction and training programmes. A sum of Rs 99.12 lakh will be used as investment, Rs 36.59 lakh for special unit programmes and Rs 15.16 lakh for Tribal programme.

MGNREGS

A sum of Rs 2.10 crore has been released to the district under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. A sum of Rs 50 lakh was made available to the ZP  during April1, 2010. Government has released a sum of Rs 1.66 crore for drinking water schemes.
