Kodagu ready to tackle swine flu: DC

A special unit has been opened at the district hospital for the treatment of those infected with H1N1 virus in the district. The room will be earmarked only for the treatment of the patients with swine flu symptoms.

Speaking to presspersons, the DC said that no H1N1 cases have been reported in Kodagu district. Public need not panic. However, health officials have been asked to be alert.

He has also asked to open 24 hours helpline in district hospital and district health and family welfare office.

Arrangements have been made to test the patients. The Government has supplied 4 kits of Tamiflu tablets to the district.

District Surgeon Dr Ajithkumar, DHO Dr Shivaram Nayak, District Surveillance Officer Dr Sathish were present.
