In 2009-10, a total of 7,255 students had appeared for the examination. Of which, 5,959 had passed. This include 2,774 boys and 3,185 girls.
District topper
Sowmya of Kodagarahalli Shanthiniketana School has scored 614 marks and is topping the district. She said that she wants to be a cardiologist. “By entering medical field, I want to serve poor and destitutes. My teachers and parents supported me in my studies.”
She is the daughter of Shivamurthy and Indira of Kudlur.

As many as 15 schools including three government schools have scored cent per cent results. In Madikeri taluk, as many as 1,760 students have passed. A total of 2,137 students had appeared for the examination. Jnanajyothi High School, Makkandur Government High School and Cherambane Kottur Sri Rajarajeshwari High school have secured cent per cent results in Madikeri taluk.
Six schools in Virajpet taluk have secured cent per cent results. They are Birunani High School, Vinayaka High School, Pragathi School, St Thomas School Gonikoppa; Palibetta Lourds School, Kalmathadu Lions School. In 2009-10, as many as 10 schools in the taluk had secured cent per cent. As many as 2,160 students had appeared for the examination. Of which, 1,794 students have passed, thus registering 83.5 per cent pass percentage. Srimangala Jaycee High School’s K M Akshatha has scored 609 marks, thus registering 97.44 per cent. She is third for the district.
A P Pooja of Palibetta Lourdes School has scored 605 marks along with St Thomas School’s H M Priyanka. Virajpet St Annamma High Schools’s M A Mohammed Imran has scored 600 marks.
Somwarpet taluk has registered 83.19 pass percentage. As many as 2,958 students had appeared for the examination. Of which, 2,400 have passed.
Seven schools have registered cent per cent results. They are Basavanahalli High School, Thorenoor Government PU College, Nellihudikeri Anglo Varnakulam Composite School, Rotary EMHS High School, Kushalnagar; Sandeepani High School, Somwarpet; Kodlipete Kirikodli Mutt school, Jnanaganga High School.
