Music unlimited in city today

In what could be a Sunday treat for connoisseurs of music, ‘Impu’, a music festival has been organised on July 21 at Navajyothi auditorium at JSS Women’s College, in Saraswathipuram in the city.

The fest, organised by Pandit Taranath Foundation, an initiative of renowned Sarod exponent Pandit Rajiv Taranath, will be over 12-hour-long melange of events with both vocal and instrumental music with greats like Pandit Rajiv Taranath, Indudhar Nirodi, Ustad Fayaz Khan, Parameshwar Hegde, Narasimhalu Vadavati, Prabeer Bhattacharya, Poornima Bhat Kulkarni, Sameer Rao, Ravinshankar Mishra, Sarfaraz Khan, Sanjana Koushik, Nishanth, S Hiranmayi and others performing. Ravindra Yavagal, Ravindra Kakoti, Veerabhadraiah Hiremath, Sriram Bhat, Nitin Rajaram Shastry, Prabhurao, Ramesh Dhannoor, Bheemashankar, Jagadish D Kurthukoti, Sudatta and Milind will accompanying them.

The day will begin with vocal by Sanjana Koushik at 8.30 am, followed by Nishanth-9 am, flute by Sameer Rao, vocal by Poornima Bhat Kulkarni at 11 am, vocal by Indudhar Nirodi at 12 noon, clarinet by Pandit Narasimhalu Vadavati at 1 pm, Sarangi by Sarfaraz Khan at 3.30 pm, vocal by S Hiranmayi at 4.10 pm, flute by Ravishankar Mishra at 4.30 pm, tabla by Ustad Fayaz Khan at 5.20 pm, flute by Pandit Prabir Bhattacharya at 6.50 pm, vocal by Pandit Parameshwar Hegde at 8.10 pm and Sarod by Pandit Rajiv Taranath at 9.40 pm.
