JOIN USThousands of commuters use the road through the railway crossing to reach Karekallahalli, Vidyanagar and surrounding areas. Residents say each time the railway gate is closed, it results in a lengthy queue of vehicles on both sides of the railway crossing.
“The railway gate is closed for almost 20 minutes every time a train passes through. This delays commuters, especially office-goers and students,” the residents said and added that there have been instances when ambulances
have been stuck at the railway crossing.
Residents said they had submitted appeals to the Railways and officers concerned. “All our appeals in the past for the construction of an underpass has fallen on deaf ears. We only receive assurances that it would begin this year or next year and so on,” they added.
