'Cong candidate for Dharwad to be finalised today'

Siddaramaiah said Congress candidate for Dharwad constituency to be finalised on Tuesday evening.

''We have sent our opinion, and the party high command would decide,'' he added.

Aspirants Vinay Kulkarni and Shakir Sanadi express confidence that they would get tickets.

Supporters of Shakir Sanadi and a few Congress minority wing workers demand a ticket for Shakir.

"Lingayat candidates fielded across North Karnataka region. Field Shakir here and even Lingayats would support and he would win," they said.

Vinay Kulkarni says candidate announcement should not have been delayed. But, we have the strength to campaign well in just 18 days, he noted.
