JOIN USFormer prime minister H D Deve Gowda has claimed that the Congress-JD(S) coalition in the state will “close main door to south India for the BJP.”
“Karnataka is the main door for BJP in southern India. Myself and coalition coordination chairperson Siddaramaiah will make every effort to close this door for the BJP,” the JD(S) supremo said. He was speaking to reporters after taking part in Ambedkar Jayanti programme organised at Congress-JD(S) coalition office in Tumakuru on Sunday. Deve Gowda is contesting as a coalition candidate for Tumakuru Lok Sabha seat.
Deve Gowda said that it was not possible for regional parties to form their own government at the Center by keeping Congress away. All regional parties will have to join hands with the Congress for this purpose.
“I have noticed some differences among many regional parties. But, I hope that all regional parties will join hands with the only objective of keeping NDA away from power.”
Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of attempting to topple the political system in the country, Deve Gowda said that steps for ending Modi’s administration had begun in Karnataka.
