The Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) founder-president Padmanabha Prasanna Kumar has threatened to commit suicide along with his family members if Shimoga BJP MP B S Yeddyurappa fails to give a Rs 10-crore compensation towards losses incurred by him.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, he said  “Yeddyurappa caused huge financial losses to me when he was associated with the KJP. I had welcomed Yeddyurappa and Shobha Karandlaje to the party after they quit the BJP. Believing their words, I sold my house and my wife’s gold ornaments with the sole intention of building the party. Besides, I had also spent Rs 1.5 crore for the same purpose. But Yeddyurappa quit the party to embrace the BJP again. This way, he has cheated me.

“I am now in deep financial crisis and my family members are literally struggling to lead a normal life. Unless Yeddyurappa compensates the loss within a month, I and my family members will commit suicide in front of his house by consuming poison.”

He also said “some of the seers are pressuring me not to go against Yeddyurappa. But, I can’t accept it as it’s a question of my existence.”
