JOIN USShe has lodged a complaint with Lokayukta Superintendent of Police in this regard here on Tuesday.
Sujatha Nayak told Deccan Herald that she would lodge a complaint against the engineer Lashkari Nayak with Lokayukta Santhosh Hegde, if Lokayukta SP did not initiate inquiry within a week.
In the complaint, she alleged that funds released to ZP Engineering Department for various developmental works in 2007-08, and 2008-09 were misappropriated by creating fake bills. A sum of Rs 2.5 crore reserved for digging borewells, road works (Rs 2 crore), purchase of nameplates (Rs 50 lakh), purchase of stationery (Rs 25 lakh), borewell flushing (Rs one crore), drinking water projects (Rs 4 crore), development of tanks (Rs 50 lakh), purchase of office materials (Rs 10 lakh), and payment of daily wage employees (Rs 15 lakh) were misused, she charged. No action was taken against Lashkari Nayak, though several letters were written to ZP chief executive officer urging him to order an inquiry, she added.
