KSOU admissions for 31 courses from May 5

The Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) will start admissions for 31 courses for the July cycle from May 5. The admission process will conclude on August 31.

In a press conference here, KSOU Vice-Chancellor D Shivalingaiah said that the admissions for undergraduate, postgraduate, postgraduate diploma courses, diploma courses and certificate courses, will commence.

The candidates must apply online and should visit the KSOU or its regional centres with the hard copy of the application for admission. The hard copy is a must for verification of the documents, he said.

Admissions to BA, BCom, BLib, MA in Kannada, English, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, History, Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Ancient History and Archeology, Journalism and Mass Communication, MCom and MBA will be held. In addition, MSc in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science, Geography, Information Science, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics, Psychology and MLib will be held.

Admissions will also open for postgraduate diploma courses such as English, Communicative English, Journalism and Mass Communication, Kuvempu Sahitya, Business Law, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Business Administration, Marketing Management, Ambedkar Studies, Nutrition and Dietetics, Information Science and Computer Application.

Students can get admission to diploma courses in Kannada, Journalism, Nutrition and Health Education, Information Science and Computer Application. Certificate courses like Kannada, Panchayat Raj and Nutrition and Food, are available.

The varsity has not hiked the tuition fee and the fee structure since 2014-15, the VC said. Fee concession to SC/ST and women students, who are from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, as per the rules, will be given.
