Landslides recur in Kodagu

Landslides recurred in some parts of Kodagu district following incessant rain. The showers affected road-clearing work on Tuesday.

Madikeri, Suntikoppa, Napoklu, Bhagamandala, Jodupala, Makkandooru, Madapura, Somwarpet received heavy rain on.

As tourists and local residents are clicking selfies in the landslide affected areas putting their lives at stake, the district administration has posted police personnel at such places.

Deputy Commissioner P I Sreevidya said that entry of people to flood-affected areas has been prohibited. In the meantime, heavy sound from beneath the earth is being heard in Karike and other parts of the district with the increase in rainfall.
