Leopard watches over trapped cub in Mysore

Last Updated 17 September 2012, 18:37 IST

A leopard cub was trapped in a cage at a farm in Mahadevapura on the outskirts of the City.

However, forest department officials were unable to release the leopard into the forest as its mother sat on top of the cage.

Gopal of Mahadevapura had urged forest department officials to set a cage in his farm as leopards were frequently sighted in the area.

The cub, which came in search of prey, was trapped in the cage at around 5.45 pm on Monday.  Following the incident, forest department officials have decided to capture both the leopards on Tuesday morning with the assistance of an elephant.
