The government will soon restart 183 lift irrigation projects which were stalled, Minor Irrigation Minister CS Puttaraju said. “We need about Rs 300 crore to restart these works. For now, we have clearance to release Rs 100 crore,” he added.
The upstream water sources hold the potential of providing minor irrigation facility to 45 lakh hectares of land in the state. “So far, irrigation facility has reached 7.89 lakh hectares. Work on the rest will begin soon,” he said.
