JOIN USMaharastra State Lingayat Coordination Committee has decided to organise a rally at Solapur City in Maharastra on June 3 seeking independent religion tag to the Lingayat faith.
Addressing reporters in Kalaburagi on Friday, Jagatika Lingayat Mahasabha (JLM) Kalaburagi district unit president Prabhuling Mahagaonkar said that the rally would be taken out from Basaveshwara Circle to deputy commissioner's office.
"Community members from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are expected to attend," he said.
Mahagaonkar said that a meeting would be held at Kumbalgodu in Bengaluru on June 17 to discuss preparations for a massive rally at New Delhi.
The committee general secretary R G Shetar said that those willing to become members of the JLM might contact the JLM district office in Kalaburagi.
