A loud mysterious noise was heard in parts of the district on Thursday afternoon, creating panic among the people. The loud sound was heard at around 3.40 pm, and there were reports of mild tremors.
The noise was heard in parts of Mandya, Maddur, K R Pet, Malavalli and Pandavapura taluks and mild tremors were also reported. However, Geologist Nagesh clarified that the
Disaster Monitoring Centre at Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) has not registered any tremors.
It may be mentioned that similar loud noise was reported from Pandavapura and Srirangapatna taluks around two months ago and the reason is yet to be ascertained.
