Kirikodli Mutt pontiff Sadashiva Swami urged Deputy Commissioner Charulata Somal to initiate action to solve the dispute on the Rajara Gadduge land.

Meeting the deputy commissioner during the 'Jilladhikarigala Nade-Halliya Kade' programme at Bhadramma-Mahantappa Bhavan of Kodlipet Kirikodli Mutt, the pontiff said that the original structure of Nalkunadu palace has been tampered with.

He drew the attention of the deputy commissioner towards the Rajara Gadduge dispute, which has remained unsolved for several years.

Veerashaiva Lingayat Sanghatana Vedike national organising secretary S Mahesh said that the 20-acre-land of Rajara Gadduge, which belonged to the rulers of Kodagu, is still a disputed land.

The district administration has not been considering the High Court order in this regard, he added.

"Under the pretext of renovating the Nalkunadu palace in Madikeri taluk, the department of archaeology has cleared the entrance arch of the palace, thereby destroying the original structure. Serious action should be initiated against the erring personnel," he said.

Responding to the same, Deputy Commissioner Charulata Somal assured of doing the needful.

Zilla Veerashaiva Jangama Archaka Purohitara Sangha general secretary Somashekhara Shastry and other officials were present.
