Case against hall owner for disrupting traffic

Bantwal town police registered a case against a marriage hall owner for not allowing parking of vehicles on the hall premises and obstructing traffic on NH.

According to SP Ravikanthe Gowda, the police had a tough time in managing the traffic on the NH till 2.30 pm on Sunday. Though parking space is available in the hall premises, vehicles were not allowed parking. Accordingly, the police have registered a case against hall owner Mohammed Sagar.

Man arrested

Puttur police arrested a man for sexually assaulting a minor girl on the promise of marrying her.

The arrested is Shashidhar (33), accused of sexually assaulting the minor for the last one month. A case has been registered under Pocso Act.

Attempt to assault: 4 held

Vittal police arrested four persons in connection with an attempt to assault police personnel and preventing them from discharging duties.

According to the police, when the police were on rounds on Saturday night, 10 persons including Krishna, Vittal Town Panchayat member, were partying at the Vittal private bus stand and were creating a public nuisance. When the police questioned them, one of them snatched the mobile phone of Ashok who was videographing the incident and threw it on the ground and later fled the spot.

The arrested are Anish, Ganeshprasad, Akshath and Praveen.

Massage centre raid: 1 held

Urwa police raided a massage parlour at Chilimbi on Sunday and arrested a man and rescued three women.

Acting on a tip-off that illegal activities are being carried out in the parlour, the police conducted the raid. The arrested is Yadav Moolya, a resident of Adyapady. The police have seized four mobile phones and Rs 4,000 cash from the arrested.
