Cops seize 8 vehicles discharging waste water on road

The police started the process of disciplining vehicles discharging the nauseating fish waste water on the roads on Thursday.

Eight vehicles transporting fish which were discharging waste water on the road and causing 'nuisance to public' were seized by police.

The move to discipline the trucks transporting fishes came close on the heels of City Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil's notice to transporters about adhering to the orders of the National Green Tribunal (NGT).

As according to NGT's order, the waste water has to be diverted to containers and not discharged on the roads.
