Explosives seized in Kushalnagar

Explosives seized by the police in Kushalnagar.

Police seized a huge quantity of explosives during a raid carried out on a house in Sundaranagara in Kushalnagar on Tuesday night. 

Five men have been arrested in connection with the raid, police sources added.

Electronic detonator, non-electronic detonator, Aluminum Nitrate, Calcium Hydroxide and safety fuses were found in the house belonging to one Manju of Sundaranagara.

The arrested men were identified as R Manju (37) and Mani (33) of Sundaranagara, Kubera (45) of Basaveshwara Layout, K R Ravi (31) of Baichanahalli and Rizwan Ahmed (54) of Bettadapura hobli of Mysuru district.

During the raid, the police were accompanied by the bomb disposal squad. The explosives seized were capable of causing massive destruction. The motive behind the stocking of explosives is being probed by Kushalnagar rural police.

The accused were produced before the court which remanded them in judicial custody.
