Identify achievers from unorganised sector: Kodagu SP

Labourers from the unorganised sector who have made an achievement should be identified and honoured, said Superintendent of Police Suman D Pennekar.

Speaking at a meeting in Madikeri on Saturday, she said a labourers’ felicitation programme should be organised to identify achievers in the unorganised sector and honour them with ‘Karmika Sanmana Prashasthi’.

She said that Karnataka State Unorganized Worker Social Security Board and Karnataka Construction and other Workers Welfare Boards will organise labourers’ felicitation day at the district level on March 1.

District labour officer Ramakrishna said the Unorganized Worker Social Security Board distributed smart cards to labourers from the unorganised sector.

All the labourers from 11 sectors should furnish necessary documents in the prescribed format to the labour department to avail the smart card, he added.

The application for Karmika Sanman Prashasthi should be submitted on or before February 5.
