Opposition Leader in Legislative Council Kota Srinivas Poojary said the administrative machinery should run as per the rules and regulations but PWD Minister H D Revanna is carrying lemons with him everywhere which is of no use.

Addressing media persons in Madikeri on Monday, he predicted that the NDA will come to power again and the coalition government in Karnataka would collapse after the Lok Sabha election results are announced.

“Cheap political games are being played in Mandya, where three people who share the similar first name with the Independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh, are in the fray. This is an act of conspiracy,” Kota said and added that BJP has lent its unconditional support to Sumalatha.

“There is huge public support for Sumalatha and her victory is almost confirmed,” he said.

He said a railway line has been approved for the district thanks to MP Prathap Simha and Rs 1,854 crore has been sanctioned for the work. If the BJP candidate wins, the project will be completed within five years, he said.

He reiterated that the BJP candidates will win in 22 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state. The people will repose their faith in the Modi-led government, he predicted.

Stating that the promises made in the election manifesto of BJP contains 75 assurances and the manifesto has been prepared on the basis of the suggestions given by around six crore people on social media, he said that the first priority of the party will be national security and there will be a tough stance against terrorism. “The Congress’ motto is to release the people who are arrested for terror acts and to aid them financially”.

MLC Sunil Subramani, leaders Dhananjay and Mahesh Jaini were present in the press meet.
