Modi is a fake chowkidar: ex-CM

MLC S L Bhoje Gowda wishes former chief minister Siddaramaiah during a public meeting in Chikkamagaluruon Monday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not a ‘chowkidar’ but a bhagidar in corruption, alleged former chief minister Siddaramaiah.

Speaking at a public campaign meeting organised jointly by Congress, JD(S) and CPI here on Monday, he said, “Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi cheated banks of crores of rupees and fled the country. Did they flee without the notice of Modi?”

“A huge amount of corruption has occurred in Rafale deal. In such a situation, what chowkidar work has Modi done? He is a fake chowkidar. His is a 100% corrupt government,” said Siddaramaiah.

“Modi had said that Rahul Gandhi had picked the safest possible seat to contest the elections as the majority is in minority in Wayanad, which is a communal statement. It is a tragedy that the prime minister is speaking on majority and minority communities,” said Siddaramaiah.

“I do not know whether BJP leaders like K S Eshwarappa and C T Ravi have learnt any kind of culture. Ravi has spoken ill of those who opposed Modi. I do not know whether C T Ravi is aware of the Constitution and law of the land,” he added.

Further, he accused C T Ravi of initiating Go Back Shobha campaign against BJP candidate Shobha Karandlaje. “Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde is eligible to become a Gram Panchayat member as well. I am not speaking lightly on Gram Panchayat members. Could he have issued a statement on changing the Constitution without the knowledge Prime Minister Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah?”

Siddaramaiah said, “Bengaluru South BJP candidate Tejaswi Surya had issued defamatory statements on Ambedkar and the Constitution. He is not “Surya” (Sun), instead, he is a new moon (Amavasya). Surya should light the world.”

He questioned whether there is a need to elect those who oppose the Constitution.
