‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unaware of the hardships of common people’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who delivers his radio address ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is not bothered about what the people say, said former MLA B B Ningaiah.

Speaking at JD(S) observers' meeting held in Madikeri on Tuesday, he said that it is the duty of the government to provide facilities for common people and farmers.

Even though many farmers have lost lives during protests in Delhi, the Central Government is insensitive to the problems of the people, he added.

“The BJP-led Central and the state governments are pushing the people down to the core of the earth. All secular parties should unite to save the country. Even though the Malnad areas are being affected by floods for the past three years, the BJP-led state government is not bothered,” said Ningaiah.

Kodagu district unit JD(S) president K M B Ganesh said that a ‘Bengaluru Chalo’ movement will be taken out urging the government to provide houses for the houseless.

The promise made by the government on ‘home for all’ has turned out to be false, he said.

“During his chief ministerial tenure in 2018, H D Kumaraswamy had listened to the woes of flood victims in Kodagu and had sanctioned funds to build 840 houses in Jamburu. A lot of development works have been done during his term as the chief minister. He had also announced two taluks,” said Ganesh.

Party observers Amanulla Khan and Srikanth were present, among others.
