Row over headscarf: CFI warns of protest

Campus Front of India (CFI) State Committee member Riyaz Kadambu has warned of staging a protest across the district if the college authorities fail to allow students to wear a headscarf and to hold Namaz.

Speaking to reporters, he said, “The police have promised to solve the row. Even the principal of the college should respond to the demands of the students and solve the row amicably. The students who staged a protest on Monday should not be harassed by the college management.”

A parent said, “The calendar of the college mentions prohibition on wearing a headscarf in its page number 43. Unfortunately, the calendar is given only after a student is admitted to the college.”
