BJP condemns

G Sulochana Bhat, BJP state spokesperson, accused District In-charge Minister U T Khader of being responsible for the stoning of the bus.

She told reporters, “Miscreants who barged into the bus manhandled the women there. The overwhelming response to Modi’s rally put the opponents in despair. Khader should have urged strict action against the culprits.”

She said that Modi has introduced several pro-women programmes.

VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell alleged that the stone pelting and assault incident at Kuthar was a conspiracy of Khader, who is the Mangaluru Assembly constituency MLA.

He added, “Youth holding a stick to attack the people inside a bus is a dangerous development. There is a fearful atmosphere for Hindus in Ullal. Such incidents have been recurring in Ullal for the last several years. The Hindus should awaken with regard to Saturday’s incident.”

Pumpwell accused Khader of being directly responsible for stabbing, attack of Hindu activists that were reported in the district in the recent past.
