Thunderstorms in Kodagu, rain in coffee land

Various parts of Kodagu received good showers on Tuesday.

Napoklu, Suntikoppa, Moornadu, Dodda Pulikotu, Sanna Pulikotu, Hakatturu, Betri, Kumburu, Haraduru, Kodagarahali, Chettalli and Mattikadu witnessed thunderstorms.

Coffee and pepper growers were happy as the crops needed water.

Napoklu - Parane Road was waterlogged, causing hindrance for the movement of vehicles.

A cow died after lightning struck it at Kattemadu village.

In Chikkamagaluru

Chikkamagaluru city and the surrounding areas and other parts of Kadur received mild showers on Tuesday.

Starting with a drizzle in the afternoon, the rain intensified towards the evening.

There was about 20 minutes of rain in Allampura, Kaimara, Teguru gate, Aldur and also hilly regions.

Kadur also experienced rainfall.
