Two held for dumping dead chicken

The Sampya police have arrested two persons for dumping more than 500 dead chicken at Kallagudde Colony (beside road) in Mundooru Gram Panchayat limits in Puttur taluk.

The arrested have been identified as Kushalappa Gowda of Kadya, near Mundooru and Madhuchandra Rai of Sanangala, near Keyyur village.

Following the dumping of dead chicken, Balakrishna, a resident, had filed a complaint to the gram panchayat, which in turn filed a complaint to the police.

Unbearable stench

The dumping of dead chicken had severely affected the residents as the stench emanating from them was unbearable.

On Sunday, the gram panchayat removed all the dumped chicken and buried them in a pit.
