Last Updated 24 February 2021, 17:36 IST

Following the spread of the new strain of Covid-19, only those who have Covid-19 negative report are being allowed into the Kodagu district through Makutta and Kutta check posts.

As a result, many people who did not have the information were stuck at the borders. This enraged passengers and the vehicle users had a bitter argument with the police personnel.

The vehicles coming from Kerala to the district were stuck in a long line.

Drivers said that there were no restrictions when they travelled to Kerala from Karnataka. Therefore, many goods transport vehicles that had been to Kerala, are now stuck at the border.

An official said that the information to bring negative Covid-19 report was communicated to the concerned people much earlier.

But, many drivers of goods transport vehicles are claiming ignorance and are creating confusion at the check posts. The entry is restricted and only those who have negative report are being allowed into the state, from last Monday onwards, he added.
