Woman passenger's cash, jewellery stolen in train

Gold jewellery and cash belonging to a woman passenger, who was travelling to Udupi from Mumbai in Mumbai-Kochuveli Super Fast Express Train, have been found stolen on Wednesday.

Mohini, a native of Heroor in Udupi district and a resident of Thane near Mumbai, lost 131 grams of gold ornaments and cash worth Rs 50,000.

Incidentally, Mohini was travelling from Mumbai to Udupi with her children and other relatives in the train.

After reaching her house in Udupi on Wednesday, she checked her bag and found gold ornaments and cash missing.

She immediately filed a complaint with Manipal police station.

Though the police have contacted RPF personnel, they are yet to achieve a breakthrough. They are also checking the antecedents of passengers who travelled with Mohini in the same train in order to ascertain whether a gang or an individual person was behind the incident.
