Kechamada Subbamma Thimmayya

Retired primary school teacher and writer in Kannada and Kodava languages Kechamada Subbamma Thimmayya passed away at her residence on Saturday. She was 91. 

She was suffering from age-related problems and was treated at a private hospital in Mysuru recently.

She is survived by two sons. Her last rites were performed at her coffee estate in Kanoor. 

Subbamma had served as the 12th district Kannada Sahithya Sammelana president in 2016.

Some of her written works are 'Bhavaneyallaralida Pushpadesalugalu,' 'Chutukina Savi Gutuku,' 'Paleya Thakk,' 'Ponthak,' 'Anji Kootna Animuth,' 'Ponduli', 'Mahakavya' and 'Yakshaprashne'. 

The Kodagu district Kannada Sahithya Parishat, Virajpet taluk Kannada Sahithya Parishat and Jilla Barahagarara Mathu Lekhakara Balaga have condoled the death of Subbamma.
