Minorities told to stand by Deve Gowda

JD(S) National Secretary Mohammed Zafrulla Khan on Monday said Tipu Sultan met his end as his commanders-in-chief were not loyal to the leader. The fate of the JD(S) is no different in Karnataka.

Khan was participating in the 265th birth anniversary of Tipu Sultan, at the party office in Bengaluru.

He said H D Deve Gowda, son of a farmer, built the party and later became the prime minister because of his strength. He also allowed many leaders to grow. But some people are splitting the party to serve their interests. The party can survive provided it treads the path of Deve Gowda.

Khan said the party should face elections under Gowda’s leadership. Minorities should not be carried away by hearsay. Instead, they should stand by Gowda, he added.
