Moderate rains lash parts of Ballari dist

Sandur taluk in Ballari district received moderate rains, accompanied with lightning.

Monsoon was inactive for the last several days in the taluk. After a brief lull, the showers on Thursday brought respite to the farmers. The skies remained overcast for most part of the day.

Intermittent rains lashed several parts of Shivamogga district on Thursday. Shivamogga, Bhadravathi, Hosanagar, Thirthahalli and Sagar received rains intermittently throughout the day. Shikaripur and Sorab also received moderate rains. The intensity was more in the Malnad region. The water-level in the Linganamakki dam stood at 1,792.15 feet against the maximum level of 1,819 feet as the catchment area received only 12.20 mm of rainfall.

The inflow of water was 6,593 cusecs. The water-level in the Mani dam rose to 584.93 metres against the maximum level of 594.36 metres as the catchment area received 11 mm of rainfall. The inflow of water was 1,074 cusecs.
