Modi praised Deve Gowda’s knowledge of irrigation: HDK

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, praised former prime minister H D Deve Gowda on his knowledge of irrigation projects.

Modi praised the former prime minister's knowledge in the irrigation sector, when Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy called on him to put forth the state's plea on the issue regarding the Cauvery Water Management Authority.

"The prime minister praised Deve Gowda, saying he is an encyclopedia on the irrigation sector. He has everything about the irrigation sector on his fingertips, Modi said,” Kumarswamy told reporters here.

Modi recalled that Gowda had, in the past, discussed with him about irrigation projects, including those of the Cauvery basin, the chief minister said.

Public Works Minister H D Revanna, who met Home Minister Rajnath Singh along with the chief minister, told reporters that Singh enquired about Gowda and recalled their long association in Parliament.
