Modi will be PM again, says Paswan


Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ramvilas Paswan said on Monday there was no vacancy for the post of prime minister in the 2019 elections.

He said Narendra Modi will be prime minister once again.

He was speaking to reporters after a meeting of the ministry of consumer affairs, food and public distribution in the city. He said the country needed strong and good leadership and there was no leadership in the opposition.

Paswan said the 20 parties which had come together as part of the Mahagathbandhan needed to find a good leader first. Citing the example of Karnataka, he said there were so many differences among the coalition

Taking a dig at Congress president Rahul Gandhi, he said nobody took him seriously, not even his own party members.

On Congress’ move to give Priyanka Gandhi a key role, Paswan said the party was scared and so, they have brought her in. There is nothing for BJP to worry about, he said. Whether she is a suitable leader or not, only time will decide, he

‘Met Zameer’

Paswan said that he had a meeting with Zameer Ahmad Khan, the state minister for food and civil supplies on Monday morning.

He said that the Centre had given Rs 300 crore to state and another Rs 795 crore was pending.

This amount would be cleared when the state government submits adequate bills, under the National Food Security Act.
