'Mysore airport to be operational by Sep 15'

After reviewing the progress of work at the airport at Mandakalli, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said the airport becoming operational would be an added attraction for visitors to the nine-day long Dasara celebrations, which will begin on September 19.

However, Congress MP from Mysore H Viswanath doubted whether the airport would be ready by September 15, as claimed by the chief minister.

He told reporters that authorities here had to fulfill a number of guidelines set by the Civil Aviation Authorities, and wondered if they would be able to meet them before the scheduled launch of the airport.
