Next conference in Haveri

The next Sahitya Sammelana, the 81st, will be held in Haveri. A decision to this effect was taken at the meeting of the central executive committee of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat here on Wednesday. 

Hassan, Chamarajanagar, Gulbarga and Bellary were also discussed as possible venues. With many office-bearers favouring Haveri as the venue, the panel settled for the city. The meeting was presided over by Parishat president Pundalika Halambi. 

“The Haveri literary conference will either be held in December this year or January next year. A decision to this effect will be taken at a meeting of the district executive committee of the Parishat,” Gurushantappa Masanagi, president of the Haveri district Kannada Sahitya Parishat, told Deccan Herald.
