Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that Janata Dal (United) has fielded able candidates for the Karnataka elections on May 12.

He spoke after visiting the Siddaganga mutt here in Tumakuru on Sunday.

The JD(U) leader said that the party had taken big strides under the able leadership of Mahima Patel, son of late JD(U) veteran and former chief minister J H Patel. The party had fielded candidates in many constituencies, he added.

"Candidates are working hard to win seats for the party. I am here to canvas for Mahima Patel who is contesting in the Chennagiri constituency in Davanagere district. Siddaganga mutt is a divine place. I wanted to visit this place and seek the blessings of the seer Shivakumara Swamiji," he added.
