Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara called on former chief minister and coordination committee chairman Siddaramaiah at the SDM Yoga and Nature Cure Hospital at Ujire near Dharmasthala on Sunday evening.

Speaking to mediapersons at Mangaluru International Airport earlier, he said, “Siddaramaiah is our leader. I have come to visit him. I have no knowledge of him opposing the full budget plan of the coalition government.”

Rubbishing reports that Siddaramaiah was angry at him, he said he had spoken to Siddaramaiah over the phone on Saturday.

Later speaking to mediapersons at Dharmasthala, Parameshwara said the decisions on cabinet expansion and loan waiver would be taken shortly. There are no differences of opinion among the leaders in the party and coalition government.

“The decisions are taken only after discussions with leaders of both the parties. There is no confusion over loan waiver and budget presentation,” he said.

“I have come here for the darshan of Dharmasthala's presiding deity Manjunatha. So, it is natural to hold talks with our leader Siddaramaiah. There is nothing special,” he said.

Congress workers who had come from Mangaluru to Ujire were not allowed inside Shantivana to meet Siddaramaiah. The Congress workers expressed their displeasure over not being allowed inside. Later, Siddaramaiah came near the gate and pacified the workers.
